THE ARCHitect
Cameron K. Morton
Founder / CEO / Creative Director
Cameron K. Morton spent 15 years as an assistant director and producer on some of the biggest film and television productions in the country — working sets for Warner Bros, Showtime, A24, Apple, and Lionsgate. He’s run multi-million dollar shoots across continents, negotiated logistics that most producers wouldn’t touch, and built a reputation as the person you call when the production needs to actually work.
In 2024, he walked away from the Hollywood machine to build Plan R Pictures — a filmmaker-led creative agency built on one belief: brands deserve the same cinematic discipline that audiences get in a dark theater.
In my own words.
I didn’t go to business school. I dropped out of film school after Ben Affleck asked me for a cigarette on the set of The Town and I talked my way onto the crew three days later. That was 2010. Everything I know about leadership, storytelling, and managing chaos I learned on set — not in a classroom.
I spent the next fifteen years working my way up through the ranks. PA to key PA to AD. Boston to New Mexico to Colombia. I worked with brilliant people and terrible people. I ran sets where a single mistake could cost a studio hundreds of thousands of dollars, and I learned how to make sure that mistake never happened on my watch.
But the industry is a machine, and machines don’t care about the people inside them. I burned out. I lost people I cared about. I hit a wall that most people don’t come back from.
I stepped away from the machine a few years ago. Not because I stopped loving the work — because I needed to rebuild. Personally, professionally, all of it.
Massachusetts has always been home base. It’s where I came up, it’s where the best film crews in the country live and work, and it’s where Plan R Pictures was born.
Why Plan R exists.
I don’t believe in boxes. Not genre boxes, not industry boxes, not the box that says a creative agency has to look and sound like every other creative agency.
Plan R is named after Attack Plan R from Dr. Strangelove — the contingency that changes everything. The backup plan that becomes the real plan. That’s what this company is.
We make commercials. We make documentaries. We make music videos and brand campaigns and sketch comedy and whatever else the project demands. The through-line isn’t a genre — it’s a standard. Everything we make has to be undeniable. If it’s not something you’d actually choose to watch, we haven’t done our job.
I spent fifteen years learning how to hold an audience’s attention. Now I do it for brands who are tired of being boring.
The short version.
Hollywood-trained filmmaker. Award-winning director. Building a creative agency from the ground up with nothing but talent, taste, and a 12-pound dog who hates everyone.
